SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanisation of agriculture, in particular, to mechanisation of post-harvest handling of grain and seeds, and may be used when cleaning the flat sorting screens with the best quality. The method of cleaning the screens of grain cleaners is that the elastic elements are mounted in the form cylindroids, ellipsoids, ovaloids which are pivotally attached to the leash either for one end or the middle, with the leash is tightly fastened to the bottom of the screen in the middle of the bridge between the holes of the sieve through the row along the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the hole, if it is elongated, and along the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the sieve, if it has round holes. The leash is made rigid, without the possibility of extension. All the elements are made of an elastic material such as rubber or polymer, and their sizes in all directions are greater than the size of the holes of the sieve, and it is possible to attach on one sieve both the elements equal in form, and different ones, but with compliance with the condition of equality of masses of elements to each other, and the length of the element with the leash is set not greater than the distance from the leash attachment point to the middle of the adjacent hole of the sieve and twice less than the distance to the next sorting screen if they are more installed than one and parallel to each other.
