SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a polymer-modified asphalt binder composition essentially without cross-linking agents, involving heating an asphalt component in a tank with a mixer to temperature 160-221°C, adding a block-copolymer composition to the asphalt component while simultaneously stirring the asphalt component to form a homogeneous mixture of the asphalt component and the block-copolymer composition and continuing to stir the homogeneous mixture while simultaneously maintaining temperature of 180-221°C for a total of 2-30 hours, resulting in formation of a hardened asphalt binder composition which is modified with a polymer. The bloc-copolymer composition contains one or more block-copolymers, having at least one monovinyl aromatic block and at least one polybutadiene block, having vinyl content less than 15 mol %, and at least one polybutadiene block having vinyl content higher than 25 mol %.

EFFECT: asphalt binder compositions have high plasticity and do not require addition of sulphur-containing cross-linking agents.
