FIELD: textiles, paper.
SUBSTANCE: body (4, 8) of an iron has grip (6, 6a, 6b) and a back side (H, 8), which serves as a supporting surface on which a steam iron (2) is put. In the back side the inlet tube (10) is provided for water with a lockable rear inlet (10a) for water. The tank (14) for water is adapted for tight connection (18) with an inlet tube (10) for water. The rotating rear water inlet (20) is adapted to mount on the body (4, 8). Cork (22) in the closed position faces the tank (14) for water and can hermetically seal the rear inlet (10a) for water. The rear water inlet (20) has an outer side, which in the closed position of the rear water inlet (20) and the inlet (10a) for water enters the rear plate (8) of the body in such a way that it serves as a part of the bearing surface of the body (4; 8).
EFFECT: simplified construction and improved reliability of the locking system of the inlet for water.
