SUBSTANCE: steam ironing apparatus comprising iron (1) having ironing sole (2; 202) in contact with the laundry, comprising front portion (21; 221) with steam outlets (20; 220) and rear portion (22; 222) having no steam outlets, steam outlet holes (20; 220) being supplied with steam from diffusion chamber (30; 230) closing front part (21; 221) of the sole, characterized in that steam enters diffusion chamber (30; 230) from the steam distribution system located in the heating housing (4; 204), which is in thermal contact with back part (22; 222) of the sole, diffusion chamber (30; 230) being located in non-heating housing (3; 203), located on the front of sole (2; 202), non-heating body (3; 203) being separated from heating body (4; 204) located on back part (22; 222) of the sole.
EFFECT: this design provides the ironing device with an optimal ironing performance.
