FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: device to monitor pipeline corrosion comprises the first module of diagnostics of a pipeline physical state designed for installation inside the pipeline, and the second module of diagnostics of a pipeline physical state designed for installation outside the pipeline, a unit to couple specified modules with the industrial Ethernet network, at least two channels to measure corrosion speed, a coupling unit and a controller connected to the industrial Ethernet network, a panel to control pipeline corrosion monitoring, a data base server and a server converting Ethernet network data into a form clear for any specified controller. The method to monitor pipeline corrosion includes measurements of medium parameters by means of sensors installed in points of observation in accordance with measurement charts and speeds of pipeline corrosion. To measure the specified parameters, the proposed device is used.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of corrosion defect dislocation of corrosion defects and higher efficiency of system functioning.
