FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, particularly, to production of sorbents from vegetable stock. Sorbent represent porous matrix with silicon oxide component distributed therein with pore size of 5-30 mcm. Silicon oxide powder with particle size of 50-250 nm is arranged on matrix pore surface. Sorbent is made by thermal treatment of rice grain peelings in high-frequency plasma at pressure below atmospheric pressure. Note here that silicon oxide powder is fed joint with plasma-forming gas.
EFFECT: sorptive capacity of 24-45 g/g.
