FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves reaction of a zinc halide with trialkylaluminum to obtain dialkylzinc and dialkylaluminium monohalide. The obtained dialkylzinc is separated from the reaction product by distillation. The reaction product obtained after distillation is mixed with aluminium metal, whose molar ratio of the zinc component, dissolved in the reaction product, is equal to or greater than 0.40. The mixture then undergoes distillation to extract dialkylaluminum monohalide, which essentially does not contain a zinc component.
EFFECT: method of producing dialkylaluminium monohalide enables to efficiently obtain dialkylaluminium monohalide, which essentially does not contain a zinc component, on an industrial scale and with high output.
