FIELD: corrosion protection. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to formation of corrosion-resistant ornamental coatings for out-door objects (advertising, inscriptions on edifices, roofing, etc.) and consists in mechanical treatment of substrate surface and applying thereon primary coat followed by vacuum technique-mediated laying of titanium nitride, said primary coat being 20-200 mcm thick and additionally covered with varnish to form profiled surface consisting of bulges and grooves. Arithmetical mean deviation of profile on 1.5 cm length is 0.5-2 mm and titanium nitride layer thickness is no larger than 0.5 mcm. EFFECT: increased corrosion resistance and improved ornamental expressivity (goldish-color saturation) of titanium nitride coatings of differently-shaped parts from different metals. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
