FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a spherical hydroacoustic antenna for sonar, having a spherical housing with a circular hole for mounting to the sonar carrier. On the spherical housing, piezoelectric transducers are mounted on a spiral which is clockwise and begins at point A where an axis passing through the centre of the circular hole and the centre of the spherical housing crosses its outer surface. Formulae for calculating the position of transducers and their number depending on the working frequency of the sonar are given.
EFFECT: improved characteristics of the acoustic field of the disclosed hydroacoustic antenna, high variability of its design phase.
