FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method to remove snow and/or ice from wires of power transmission lines includes separation of a wire into individual sections connected to each other electrically and mechanically, rigid fixation of one of the wire section ends, fixation of the second wire section end with the possibility of rotation and application of a force to wire sections that provides for their rotation relative to the longitudinal axis. The device to realise the method includes a facility of mechanical and electrical connection of wire sections to each other, providing for rigid fixation of one of wire section ends and fixation of the second wire section end with the capability of rotation, arranged in the form of a coupling, and a facility to rotate wires relative to their axis, arranged in the form of at least one blade rigidly connected with the wire directly or via a bushing.
EFFECT: improved efficiency and simplification of technical facilities.
