FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lettuce plant forming the head of species Lactuca sativa, having red leaves throughout the whole head including the central part of the head. Red leaves in the central part of head are red, even in the absence of radiation with wavelengths shorter than 400 nm, where the absence of radiation with wavelengths shorter than 400 nm is observed when growing conditions during the entire period from sowing until observation. The ratio between anthocyanin and chlorophyll is in the range from 4 to 50, preferably from 9 to 27. The genetic complex is described, giving the described properties to the specified plant, comprising at least one dominant allele A for expression of anthocyanin; a recessive allele b in the homozygous state; optionally at least one dominant allele C or the recessive allele d in the homozygous state, and at least one dominant allele E, a recessive allele f in the homozygous state or recessive allele g in the homozygous state. It also describes the use of plants containing the described complex for selection.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain lettuce leaves of the plant species Lactuca sativa, with red leaves throughout the whole cabbage head, including the central part of head.
