FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves directing a beam of laser radiation, having absorption wavelength which is characteristic for gaseous material contained in the measured object, onto the object in order to detect the light transmission factor and the light absorption factor, and detect density of gaseous materials in the object and density of solid dispersed materials in the object. A relationship between density of multiple types of solid dispersed materials, including black smoke and white smoke, and the level of attenuation of the laser beam for each absorption wavelength is predetermined. Beams of laser radiation, having a plurality of corresponding absorption wavelengths, are directed onto the measured gaseous substance. The levels of attenuation of directed beams of laser radiation, having multiple absorption wavelengths, are determined. The measured attenuation levels are compared with attenuation levels calculated based on the predetermined relationship in order to calculate densities of multiple types of solid dispersed materials.
EFFECT: easy and reliable measurement.
