FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: method for guaranteed delivery of data units (packets, messages, cells) in a switched lossy network involves the following delivery modes: circularly - "point-to-all-points", selectively-circularly - "point-to-multipoint" or selectively "point-to-point". The method involves an operation for simultaneous delivery to a recipient node of both the unit and its copies (copies of part of the group of units) via separate routes. The method is aimed at optimum utilisation of a network structure redundancy without additional input in improving quality of communication channels and network equipment. The disclosed method can also be used in networks for real-time applications to which can be associated technological process control systems, industrial equipment control, distributed interactive modelling, audio- and videoconferencing, video transmission for immediate playback, remote medical diagnosis, telephony, certain games etc.

EFFECT: guaranteed delivery of information in networks with data loss caused by unreliable characteristics of network devices, as well as distortions in communication channels.
