FIELD: communication networks.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for delivering messages in a packet-switched communication network and is aimed at increase in the probability of message delivery in packet-switched communication networks. It is achieved by taking into account the state and structure of the packet-switched communication network when selecting overlay network nodes (terminal devices) for temporary storage of a copy of the sent message and its subsequent transmission to the recipient in the event of a loss of communication between the sender and the recipient.
EFFECT: increase in the probability of message delivery in packet-switched communication networks.
