FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: in the method of producing graft copolymers of methyl methacrylate (MMA) on polyisoprene (PI) via chemical modification of PI, dissolving the modified PI in an organic solvent, mixing the solution of the modified PI with MMA, graft polymerisation of MMA in a vaccum and separating the graft copolymer, chemical modification is carried out by dissolving PI in pure tetrahydrofuran, mixing the obtained solution with a solution of 9-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane in pure tetrahydrofuran in an atmosphere of dry argon, boiling the obtained mixture in a reflux condenser in an atmosphere of dry argon for 15-20 hours, removing tetrahydrofuran in a vacuum, washing the modified PI with methanol or ethanol and drying the modified PI in a vacuum; the organic solvent used when dissolving the modified PI is pure benzene or pure tetrahydrofuran; the solution of the modified PI is mixed with MMA in the presence of air for 5-15 minutes; the obtained mixture is then evacuated and graft polymerisation is carried out at temperature 0-40°C.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the original method of producing graft copolymers of methyl methacrylate on polyisoprene and widens the range of such methods.
