SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyfluorene brushes with polymethacrylic acid or poly(oligoethylene glycol)methacrylate side chains. A method for producing a polyfluorene brush with side chains of polymethacrylic acid or poly(oligoethylene glycol)methacrylate is described, including the preparation of a polyfluorene multicenter macroinitiator by synthesizing the monomer 2,2'-(((2,7-dibromo-9H-fluorene-9,9-diyl) bis (hexane-6,1-diyl)) bis (hydroxy)) bis (tetrahydro-2H-pyran), synthesis of polyfluorene with side protected hydroxyl groups by the Suzuki polycondensation method, removal of pyran protection in the side chains of polyfluorene and their modificationα -bromisobutyroyl bromide with the addition of potassium iodide; interaction of the obtained macroinitiator with tert-butyl methacrylate or oligoethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate using toluene, copper (I) bromide, N,N,N',N'',N''-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine; treatment of a polyfluorene copolymer with poly-tert-butyl methacrylate side chains in methylene chloride with trifluoroacetic acid to obtain the final product of the general structural formula: where: m is the degree of polymerization of the side chains (20-150); R: -COOH or -C(O)O(CH-C(O)O(CH2CH2O)10CH3; Mw of the main chain = 20 – 100 kDa.
EFFECT: molecular polyfluorene brushes with polymethacrylic acid side chains can be used to create shells of nano- and microcapsules used for targeted drug delivery, as well as solubilizing nanocontainers for hydrophobic compounds used for photodynamic therapy and diagnostics.
