FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: vacuum-plasma deposition of multilayer coating is carried out. Lower layer from nitride or carnonitride of titanium, chromium and aluminium is deposited at the ratio of, in wt %: titanium - 83.0-89.0, chromium - 4.0-6.0, aluminium - 7.0-11.0, while intermediate layer is deposited at the ratio of, in wt %: titanium - 78.0-84.0, chromium - 9.0-11.0, aluminium - 7.0-11.0, and toplayer is deposited at the ratio of, in wt %: titanium - 91.5-93.5, chromium - 6.5-8.5. Coating layers are applied by three cathodes arranged horizontally in one plane. First and second composite cathodes made from titanium and chromium are arranged opposite each other. Third composite cathode is made from titanium and aluminium are arranged there between. Bottom layer is applied using first and third cathodes, intermediate layer is produced by second and third cathodes while top layer is made by first and second cathodes.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance.
