FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises a capacitive storage, a discharger, an inductor and an adapter made from electroconductive material. The adapter is in form of a flattened cone with smooth transition into a cylindrical waveguide which does not generate internal reflections for transmitting a pressure pulse into a chamber with the calibrated sensor. The adapter is rigidly mounted by the wide base onto the inductor. The calibrated sensor is placed at the end of the chamber opposite the waveguide. A pressure pulse is transmitted in the waveguide through the chamber which is filled with an incompressible liquid.

EFFECT: high stability of generating pressure pulses and accuracy of calibration, easy implementation and high noise-immunity of the apparatus.
