FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: flat shock wave is formed, which acts symmetrically and simultaneously in two opposite directions, in one of which there is a tested sample. Simultaneously they record kinematic parameters of a shock wave that spreads in the tested sample, and a shock wave that spreads in the direction opposite to the tested sample, afterwards using their difference they define mechanical properties of the tested structural material.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determination of mechanical properties of tested structural materials under conditions of shock impact by getting additional information in one trial, which is related to reduction of time for determination of mechanical properties, cheaper method for their determination and reduced labour intensiveness of the entire process.
