SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for protecting different facilities from access by unauthorised persons via personal identification based on the image of the iris of the person and can be used in integrated security systems, in systems for monitoring and controlling access to secure territories and facilities, monitoring access to personal work stations and devices, in payment terminals, for protecting data bases, in banking when designing automated systems for accessing bank accounts and other areas where personal identification is required. The method for personal identification based on the iris involves causing involuntary eye movement using several point light sources and recording the image of the iris in moving and fixed states of the eye on dynamic and static scanning phases, followed by separate processing of results of each phase, comparing these results with each other and the original image, generating corresponding identification codes and mismatch of the identification codes indicates at attempt at falsifying the image of the iris.

EFFECT: protecting systems for identification based in the iris from falsification of identification features and reducing the number of identification errors.
