FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: chronic poisoning is experimentally induced by the daily subcutaneous introduction of a cadmium sulphate solution 0.3 mg/kg on a metal basis wherein a unit of the solution 1 ml is equal to cadmium 0.3 mg. Toxic action is prevented by the daily introduction of 10% calcium chloride 1.5 ml/kg of body weight into the animals once a day through a probe into stomach 1 hour before the introduction of the cadmium sulphate solution.
