FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting tool comprises holder and, at least, one cutting plate fitted therein and clamped by binding screw. Cutting plate has lengthwise axis, top face, bottom face and peripheral face. Note here that, at least, one area of intersection of top face with peripheral face makes cutting edge. Bottom face comprises two sets of bottom thrust surfaces, each including larger bottom thrust surface and smaller bottom thrust surface. At least, two bottom thrust surfaces make first angle (α) between them, other than zero. Note also that which cutting plate fitted in holder, first set of bottom thrust surface rests on holder bottom thrust surface while second set of bottom thrust surfaces stays without support.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and reliability of cutting plate positioning in holder.
