FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. Fluorine-containing material from electrolytic production of aluminium is treated with aluminium sulphate in an amount which is not less than the stoichiometrically required for binding sodium into sodium sulphate and then treated at temperature 400-700°C. The obtained sinter is leached with water. The products are separated to obtain aluminium fluoride and a solution containing sodium sulphate.
EFFECT: invention enables to process industrial fluorine-containing materials which are of low demand in electrolytic production of aluminium into aluminium fluoride.
