FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves putting starting material, which is an air suspension obtained from ground wood wastes (e.g., sawdust, shavings, branches), into a vessel. Compounds which enable the release of nitrogen-containing groups during synthesis of the end product are also fed into said vessel, said compounds being nitrogen gas which is part of atmospheric air. The method is carried out by exposing all processed components to a physical field with strength of 1.5×103-1×106 A/m and frequency 40-70 Hz. The size of the particles of the components of the suspension is in the range of 0.02-1.0 mm, content thereof being equal to 20-40% of the volume of the vessel. An apparatus is disclosed for realising the method, having a vessel and working parts which enable to generate the physical field. The invention eliminates the need to use expensive starting materials and observe high safety requirements for components involved in the process. The cellulose nitrates obtained after processing can be used for their direct purpose without any additional final operations.
EFFECT: apparatus is characterised by simple design and high operational reliability.
