FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves crushing of aluminium-containing clay into particles with sizes of 0.02-1.0 mm, its loading to the capacity for obtaining aluminium in quantity of 20-40% of its volume, mixing with atmospheric air in the capacity so that air suspension is obtained, and its reduction under action of alternating rotating magnetic field with intensity in the working zone of 5.5×103÷1×106 A/m and frequency of 40-70 Hz using carbon as a reducing agent, which is contained in carbon-bearing gases present in the atmospheric air used for creation of suspension; at that, the capacity for obtaining aluminium is used as a closing connection link for generated magnetic flow at action on the air suspension. Device includes the capacity for obtaining metallic aluminium, working elements for formation of magnetic field acting on particles of aluminium-containing clay and reducing agent, working elements connected to external electric power supply and made in the form of plates from magnetically conductive material, which are connected to each other, mounted in the form of a closed rectangular loop, and solenoids made in the form of three electric windings - coils arranged in the body of the working elements constituting the closed rectangular loop, each of which is connected to the appropriate phase of external three-phase electric power supply; at that, a through slot is made in one of the working elements to arrange the aluminium obtaining capacity in it.
EFFECT: reduction of costs and simplification of the structural solution and reliability of the device.
