FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: methodologies are described to support operations of user equipment with an improved uplink. User equipment may select the first signature from the first multitude of signatures available for arbitrary access for an improved uplink, for generation of an access preamble on the basis of the first signature and sending an access preamble for arbitrary access operating in a non-active condition. User equipment may accept an acceptance indicator (AI) for the first signature along the acceptance signature channel (AICH) from a unit B. The user equipment may use a default configuration of resources of an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) for the first signature, if the indicator AI has the first predetermined value. The user equipment may determine configuration of E-DCH channel resources, distributed to the user equipment, on the basis of an enhanced acceptance indicator (EAI) and the second signature, if the acceptance indicator AI has the second predetermined value. In any case user equipment may send data to the unit B using the distributed configuration of E-DCH channel resources.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of a system and reduction of a delay by reduction of a number of service signals.
