FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: what is described is a method for estimating syncytiotrophoblast membrane permeability of placental villi by metachromasy in obstetric patients suffered aggravated herpes virus infection with antibody titre 1:12800 in the third trimester wherein placental piece sections are stained in 0.01% azure I at pH=4.0, and if y- metachromasy decreased in the syncytiotrophoblast membrane to 29.2±1.2 standard units, the distance of stain-responding groups of protein molecules is stated to increase more than by 5 Å that makes the syncytiotrophoblast membrane more permeable for coarse structures.
EFFECT: method enables estimating the influence of herpes virus infection on syncytiotrophoblast membrane permeability.
