FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: proposed testing vessel assembly contains a central testing vessel, a limiting chamber wherein the sample being tested can be stored. Confined inside the chamber is a couple of adjustable electrodes immersed into the sample being tested. The gap between the electrodes may be adjusted with the help of the corresponding electrode adjustment assemblies, each containing a shaft connected to the corresponding electrode. Notably, the shaft moves into and out of the vessel by way of rotation of the corresponding adjustment wheel. Each electrode is electrically connected to a contact inside the testing assembly insulated horn-shaped element via the corresponding shafts for supply of steadily increasing voltage with the aim of the sample breakdown voltage determination. Additionally positioned over the horn-shaped elements are horn-shaped covers while the adjustment wheels include windings engaged with the corresponding windings in the testing vessel and the horn-shaped covers.
EFFECT: prevention of breakdown occurring in the air, not in the sample.
