FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: antenna system comprises an antenna array (1), which represents approximation of a hemisphere based on faces of a truncated semi-icosahedron, at the same time faces of the truncated semi-icosahedron are radiators (2) and have a shape of polygons. Inside the antenna array (1), in its centre, there is a switching system, the antenna system comprises a unit of switching system control. Faces of the truncated semi-icosahedron (radiators 2) are arranged in the form of pentagons and hexagons. The optimal is the version of making the antenna array (1) from sixteen radiators 2 similar in design: either in the form of six pentagons and ten hexagons with a hexagon in the hemisphere centre or in the form of five pentagons and eleven hexagons with a pentagon in the hemisphere centre.

EFFECT: lower mass, complexity and cost of a system with electric scanning.
