FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: compared to existing methods for measurement of a signal phase based on comparison of a received signal phase with a reference oscillation phase, in the proposed method assessment of the absolute value of the harmonic oscillation argument cos(ωt+φ) is carried out, i.e. the value θ0=ωT0+φ, where ω - circular frequency of the harmonic oscillation; T0 - moment of time t=T0. The basis of the method is to receive quotients from division of separately sums and differences of memorised discrete counts of signal quadrature components prior to the moment T0 with subsequent counts following the moment T0 and symmetrically arranged relative to T0, memorised or current. After calculation of median values of quotients, which is a distinctive criterion from the single method of instantaneous phase assessment, the value of sought phase tangents is received separately for ratios of sums and differences. After reverse trigonometric conversion of tangents, values of their arguments are received, which are identified as two independent estimates of the sought phase.
