FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises reception of radio signals by antenna array made up of N>2 elements, transduction of received radio signals into HF electrical signals on intermediate frequency and, further, in digital form, generation of threshold values of modulation type primary characteristics, their memorising, generation of threshold values of modulation type primary characteristics, comparison with preset threshold values, analysing and sampling useful signal from assembly of signals and ruling out remaining signals, calculating useful signal phase difference for current pair of antenna elements in each frequency sub range, their memorising, generation and memorising of standard ser of useful signal phase difference, subtracting measured phase differences from standard phase difference, quadrating obtained discrepancies, their summation over all pairs of antenna elements and all frequency sub ranges and their memorising, and determination of most probable direction of radio signal arrival from the least sum of squares of discrepancies. Proposed direction finder additionally incorporates unit to compute threshold values of modulation type primary characteristics, comparator, and first memory interconnected as required and connected with other components of direction finder.
EFFECT: higher capacity of direction finding.
