FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: small arms includes frame, barrel and butt consisting of housing and shock-absorbing back-plate on one side of butt that is intended to press the arms to the shoulder and/or a cheek of a gunner, hydraulic recoil checking mechanism and return spring. Hydraulic mechanism includes shock-absorbing butt plate that is connected to the butt by means of the above shock-absorbing mechanism. Return spring, when in idle position, acts on shock-absorbing butt plate, thus pushing it off the butt housing. Shock-absorbing mechanism consists of cylinder and piston that is installed in cylinder in movable manner and made as an integral part of stock, and two oil chambers. Stock protrudes partially from shock absorber and is connected to butt housing or shock-absorbing butt plate. Cylinder is connected to shock-absorbing butt plate or housing of butt. Two oil chambers are connected on inner side through the first calibrated oil passage; at that, volume of one of the chambers is reduced under action of piston whereas the volume of the chamber is increased. Shock absorber is located so that the butt tends to be moved downwards during firing from shoulder and cheek of gunner.

EFFECT: reduction of recoil to shoulder and cheek of gunner.
