FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to contact butt welding of, foe example, rods or bars at welding machines used at drawing lines for bundling wire coils or in construction for jointing reinforcement bars. Two cantilever clamps are arranged at stationary and moving beds and equipped with top and bottom welding conductive electrodes and electrode clamping drive air cylinders. Said electrodes are furnished with opposed flat reinforcing hard-metal plates to allow positioning the part ends and trimming after welding. Device that controls clamping of electrodes and displacement of bed in welding comprises two five-line three-way compressed air feed valves to force compressed air into electrode lifting and clamping air cylinders, each being actuated by two pilot valves, time relay and compressed air feed switch, as well as compressed air distributors feeding compressed air in moving bed displacement air cylinder in settlement.

EFFECT: higher efficiency due to welding integrated with trimming.
