FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention serves to control curtain gas flow rate in electric welding equipment. Proposed device comprises measuring device with current transducer 3 to measure welding current in circuit furnished with output to generate I-signal indicating said current and voltage transducer 11 to measure voltage fed to welding electrode and furnished with output to generate U-signal indicating said voltage, and control device 6. Said control device 6 has inputs connected with outputs of said current transducer and voltage transducer, respectively, and control signal output to generate control signal for curtain gas flow rate controller 7 of first preset magnitude when said U-signal exceeds said first U-threshold and said 1-signal is lower than first I-threshold, and control signal with magnitude varying proportionally with said I-signal when said I-signal exceeds said I-threshold.
EFFECT: adequate gas consumption, reduced gas losses or emissions.
