FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method involves electrolytic reduction of titanium from fluoride salt. Titanium trifluoride (TiF3) or triammonium hexafluorotitanate (NH4)3TiF6 is used as fluoride salt. Electrolytic reduction is performed in molten metal representing a mixture of fluorides LiF, KF and NaF with the following component ratio, wt %: LiF 29.21, KF 59.09, NaF 11.7.

EFFECT: obtaining titanium of high degree of purity with minimum energy consumption.
