FIELD: metallurgy of non-ferrous metals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of functional aluminum alloys. The method involves the electrolysis of a fluoride-oxide melt with the additions of Al2O3 and Y2O3, while the electrolysis is carried out in an open reactor using a liquid metal aluminum cathode, and the electrolysis of a fluoride-oxide melt is carried out at a temperature from 750 to 850°C, the said fluoride-oxide has the following composition (wt.%): 39–60 of potassium fluoride (KF), up to 15 of sodium fluoride (NaF), 37–52 of aluminum fluoride (AlF3), up to 2 of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), up to 1.2 of yttrium oxide (Y2O3).

EFFECT: obtaining a method of electrolytic production of aluminum alloys with yttrium.
