FIELD: silicon electrolytic production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrolytic production of silicon from molten salts, in particular to the production of nano- and microsized silicon deposits, which can be used in lithium-ion chemical current sources and photovoltaic cells with improved energy characteristics. The method includes electrolysis of a halide melt containing K2SiF6 in an argon atmosphere at a temperature of 650 to 750°C, characterized in that a melt of the composition NaI - 56 wt.% is used; KI - 44 wt.% with the addition of 7 wt.% K2SiF6, while the electrolysis is carried out at a cathode current density of 0.001 to 0.005 A/cm2.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain continuous nano- and microsized deposits of silicon with a fibrous structure, with the possibility of using a wider range of structural materials by reducing the aggressiveness of the electrolyte.
