FIELD: textiles and paper.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing fiber/filament or monofilament containing in fabrics for papermaking machine, industrial and technical fabrics, is claimed. The method comprises: (a) placement of material absorbing energy of short-wave infrared radiation in localised areas of fiber/filament or monofilament, which under normal conditions is permeable for energy of short-wave infrared radiation, and (b) selective fusion, melting or bonding by bonding agent the fiber/filament or monofilament with itself or with another fiber or other filament or monofilament by action on it by energy of short-wave infrared radiation. The method also includes formation of a "mushroom cap" on the tail of fiber/filament or monofilament, as well as generation of surface patterns.
EFFECT: described technology enables to bind selectively through bonding agent or fuse fibers or monofilaments with other fibers or monofilaments, enables to obtain fabrics with high seal strength, which was not previously achievable, enables to obtain fabrics with wearproof seam having the ability to maintain its integrity under the influence of high pressure flows and the ability to maintain the integrity until complete wear-out of the breadth of cloth under its ordinary use.
