FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of short high-frequency signals into a bed, registration of time of reflected echo signals arrival and detection of clayey crust thickness based on the measured time. High-frequency signals are supplied from at least two positions, located at different distances from the clayey crust, amplitudes of signals are measured, supplied from these positions and reflected from the border of the interface "drilling mud - clayey crust", full resistance and speed of sound are identified in the clayey crust.
EFFECT: increased reliability and accuracy of clayey crust thickness definition.
