FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: in order to determine acoustic characteristics of clay cake in the well, response to low-frequency non-fluctuating pressure signal is recorded at least by means of one acoustic sensor. The received signal contributes to determination at least of one characteristic of transient pressure variation process, thickness of clay cake, and at least on of the following values is determined based on the obtained values: piezoconductivity of clay cake and fluid mobility.
EFFECT: development of simple and effective method applied for determination of characteristics of clay cake in the well, which allows determining clay cake characteristics using the pressure source generating a non-fluctuating signal.
