FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: after detecting the trace of an object on the sea surface using a radar technique, the range to the front of the trace and the bearing to the front of the trace are determined, the width of the trace is measured using a radar range gating technique. The heading of the object is determined by spatial orientation of the trace. The speed of the object is determined from the displacement of the front of the trace. Intensity and speed of the shock wave of the object are determined from classification features of the object. With known wavelength of the electromagnetic wave emitted by the radar set and the yaw angle when the sea surface is irradiated by the radar set, the range to the object and its bearings are determined from the obtained parameters.
EFFECT: high accuracy.
