SUBSTANCE: audio decoder comprises an action facility (500), a decoding facility (300) and a reproduction facility (400). The action facility generates amended audio signals with a reduced number of channels from received audio signals with a reduced number of channels comprising a mixture of multiple audio objects. Amended audio signals with a reduced number of channels are produced by applying actions to assessed audio signals corresponding to audio objects contained in the specified received audio signals with a reduced number of channels. Assessed audio signals are produced from received audio signals with a reduced number of channels on the basis of received parametric data, which contain many parameters of the object for each of many audio objects. Changed audio signals with a reduced number of channels based on a type of applied action are decoded with a decoding facility or reproduced with a reproduction facility or combined with an outlet of the reproduction facility.
EFFECT: provision of an improved decoder for decoding of audio objects, which ensures a wider range of manipulations over objects without decoding of individual audio objects.
