FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to instrumentation equipment and may be used to monitor technical condition of current-conducting parts of electrical equipment under current load. The invention concept is as follows: the method provides for identification of two zones, one of which is a zone of significant thermal impact, and the other one - of insignificant thermal impact. High temperatures are defined in these zones ΔTS and ΔTI above ambient temperature. The ratio of higher temperatures is found. A sample is selected according to a type of a controlled current-conducting part of electrical equipment. Defects that impact sample electric resistance are modelled for it. For each defect, relation is identified between a thermal condition of a current-conducting part of electrical equipment and a technical one. At the same time current of constant value is sent through the sample. The ratio of higher temperatures of the sample and the ratio of resistances in the sample of the significant thermal impact zone and insignificant thermal impact zone are identified. The ratio of higher temperatures is identified for a controlled current-conducting part of electrical equipment and compared with the ratio of sample higher temperatures. Using the relation produced for the sample, the ratio is defined between resistances of the controlled current-conducting part of electrical equipment. Based on the produced ratio, a conclusion is made on the condition of the controlled current-conducting part of electrical equipment.
