FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device for receiving information about a temperature of individual nodes of an electrical installation uses thermal imagers, thermal imaging cameras and (or) laser pyrometers. A control body of an element of the electrical installation, included in the device, has two stages. The first stage compares a temperature at the most heated point with the maximum permissible temperature. The second stage compares a change in the temperature of the control point for a time interval with a value selected from a massif of accumulated retrospective measurements-states of the controlled element by a current value and an ambient temperature value. A continuous monitoring system, consistently, with a cycle of one time at a certain time interval, conducts testing and detects a deviation of controlled parameters from the set values, which is a sign of damage of the element of the electrical installation.

EFFECT: providing preventive detection of an electrical installation damage.
