SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, surgical coloproctology and may be used for improving therapeutic effects in the patients suffering rectal diseases after proctectomy with formation of a rectal reservoir. The method involves measuring rest, straining an coughing rectal pressure by open catheter method. A water-soluble contrast is introduced into a rectal lumen, and recto(reservoir)sigmoid reflux is X-rayed, while rectal pressure is measured simultaneously.

EFFECT: method enables simultaneous assessment of elasticity, contractility of the reservoir, as well as measurement of intraluminal pressure causing recto(reservoir)sigmoid reflux that ensures objective assessment of a functional effect of the operation for rectal reservoir formation after proctectomy and detection of causes of evacuation disorders for the following correction.
