FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery and radiation diagnostics, and can be used to determine intraluminal pressure in large intestine during computed tomography in patients with inflammatory complications of diverticular disease. When the contrast medium is introduced through the rectum intraluminal pressure in the large intestine is determined. Three-way Foley catheter is inserted into the rectum. One cuff is inflated by 10 ml. Other input is connected to a meter of invasive low pressures. Contrast agent is introduced through a third input into a Janet syringe under the control of intraluminal pressure. In acute diverticulitis, the contrast agent is administered until creating intraluminal pressure of 12.5 to 14.3 mm wg, with diverticulitis with a paradiverticular infiltrate – from 10.7 to 12.7 mm wg. Invasive low pressure meter can be Triton 500/75 instrument.

EFFECT: method provides higher information value of study and prevention of complications by determining intraluminal pressure during introduction of contrast agent.
