FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: controlled objects are placed in an analysis zone which is optically interfaced with a radiation source and a photodetector module. A colour image of each of the control objects is formed and the combined colour image is converted to an electric signal. The obtained signal is converted from analogue to digital to obtain three two-dimensional arrays of integers, each bearing information on spatial distribution of one of three colours - red, blue and green - in the image. The obtained two-dimensional arrays of integers are converted to a colour space and the colour coordinate value of each element of the corresponding array is compared with known values of corresponding colour coordinates of the image of the analysis zone. For elements which do not match on the colour coordinate, the colour coordinates are adjusted using the expression: . Objects are classified by comparing values of colour coordinates adjusted on colour of array elements based on at least one colour coordinate with a priori known values of the corresponding colour coordinate of reference objects.
EFFECT: possibility of simultaneous classification of several fixed and moving objects lying randomly in an analysis zone, less requirements for measuring conditions, adaptation of measurements to varying object identification conditions, faster operation of the system.
