FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, namely to methods of the mineral feed-stock separation by the optical method. According to the method the digital RGB-image of the object is prepared, and converted in HLS space. As minimum, for one of the channels of HLS space the ratio of number of elements within the specified range of the colour coordinate, to the total number of the elements in the channel relating the object. The mineral feed-stock is separated by the comparison of the received ratio with the set criterion. At that additionally the HLS-images are converted to the range of spatial frequencies, and the mineral feed-stock separation is performed based on the comparison of the received power spectrums with power spectrums of the reference objects.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the mineral feed-stock sorting.
