FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to low-emission coated articles in which there is a combination of good visible transmission (Tvis) and an excellent coefficient of influx of solar heat (CISH), thus providing an improved (i.e. higher) Tvis:CISH ratio. Such coated articles can be used in double glazing, windows and/or other suitable applications. The insulating double-glazed window has a first and a second glass substrate joined on the edges to form an insulating space in between. On one of the substrates near the insulating space, there is a layer system in which a silver-containing infrared-reflecting layer lies between dielectric layers containing silicon nitride. The layer system consists of a first layer containing Si3N4 230-320 Ǻ, a first layer of Ni and/or NiCr 10-40 Ǻ, an infrared-reflecting layer, a second layer of Ni and/or NiCr 10-40 Ǻ, a second layer containing Si3N4 450-560 Ǻ. The insulating double glaze has Tvis of 47-60%, CISH of not more than 0.36 and Tvis:CISH ratio of at least 140.
EFFECT: obtaining low-emission coated articles in which there is a combination of good visible transmission (Tvis) and an excellent coefficient of influx of solar heat (CISH), thus providing an improved (ie higher) Tvis:CISH ratio.
