FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method first step of placing powder material layer on substrate or pre-hardened layer at selected points and second step of selectively directing focused beam of photons or particles 8ґ at selected points of the layer. At second step, beam of photos or particles 8ґ is selected so that to cause the change in material absorption on getting into the layer. After second step, third step is carried out whereat said layer is electromagnetically irradiated so that material is uniformly hardened in layer points that correspond to structure cross-section. Proposed device comprises bed 4 with, in fact, flat surface to support structure to be made, applicator 10, radiator 7 to direct beam of photons or particles 8' to points that correspond to structure cross-section and radiant heater 18 capable of emitting radiation 18' with peak at wavelength of 1000-6000 ncm for heating powder layer. Besides, proposed device incorporates adjusting unit 19 to input delay time after termination of selective radiation before application of a new layer.
EFFECT: selective hardening.
